On July 14, the Vagif Poetry Days were opened in front of the museum-mausoleum complex of Molla Panah Vagif in Shusha. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the government, prominent representatives of scientific and cultural sector, members of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, young writers and poets. People's writer Chingiz Abdullayev, first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, addressed the participants and expressed utmost happiness of joining such a great event in Shusha. Stating that the Vagif Poetry Days are organized every year, Mr. Abdullayev spoke of Molla Panah Vagif's creativity: "We are proud that we had poets like Nasimi, Vagif, Mikayil Mushfiq, Huseyn Javid who never compromised their values. Our poets and writers have always been like that. Today we convened at the mausoleum of our great poet. On behalf of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, I thank each of you, because this is the appreciation of the state and the people. Without such writers, there would be no Azerbaijani literature today. Everyone wants to visit Shusha as this city is the heart of Azerbaijan. I believe that these holidays held here will last forever and the foot of the enemy will never touch these lands."

The city of Shusha was declared the "cultural capital of the Turkish world" for 2023 at the meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture held in Bursa (Turkey) last March. The solemn ceremony was held in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the measures to declare the city of Shusha as the "cultural capital of the Turkish world". The event brought together many prominent people, including Sultan Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY, Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education, Ganira Pashayeva, Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis, member of TURKSOY. In addition, Heads of delegations of countries, including the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, as well as Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanichbek Omuraliyev, President of the International Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Efendiyeva, other officials and artists from the Turkic states took part at the opening.

On May 9, the next "Kharibulbul" International Music Festival started in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. This time Shusha is also hosting the next "Kharibulbul" festival as the "cultural capital of the Turkish world". The "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" project of the International Organization of Turkish Culture - TURKSOY has been implemented since 2012. Shusha received this mission last December from Bursa, Turkey. Three-day (May 9-11) "Kharibulbul" International Music Festival brought together representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan (including this country's Karagalpak Autonomous Republic), Hungary, Gagauz Yeri Autonomous Region of Moldova, Altai, Khakassia of the Russian Federation , Sakha (Yakutia), Tatarstan, Tiwa republics, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
